Academic Year: The academic year consists of 10 months which will be split into two semesters (fall and spring). Students will receive a total of 17 lessons for each semester.

Fall Semester: September-January

Spring Semester: February-June

Summer Months:  During the summer (end of June, July and August), students prepay for the month based on the number of lessons they will be taking. In order to reschedule a lesson, 24-hours notice must be provided. Otherwise, the lesson will be forfeited. Summer lessons are not part of the tuition plan.

Tuition: Tuition includes the student's weekly lesson time, lesson planning, materials and supplies, driving time, travel-related expenses, communication with parents/students, recital organization and booking, and professional membership dues. Tuition may either be paid in full at the start of the semester or divided into 5 monthly installments. Payment will be accepted via Venmo, Zelle, Paypal, cash, or check. Students who choose to pay for the full semester will receive a slightly discounted rate. If paying for the full semester, payment is expected by the first lesson of each semester. If paying by the month, payment is expected by the first lesson of each month. Students who begin after the start of the semester will have the tuition prorated.

30-Minute Lessons: $680/semester or $143/month

45-Minute Lessons: $884/semester or $184/month

60-Minute Lessons: $1105/semester or $228/month

Trial Lessons: Students have the option of signing up for a trial lesson before committing to the full semester. If interested, please contact me for more details.

Attendance and Cancellation:

Regular weekly lessons are essential to a student’s success at the piano. Please be courteous to the teacher by providing at least 24 hours notice of any known absences.

Missed Lessons: Tuition will not be refunded if a student misses a lesson. Instead, a makeup lesson will be offered during a day other than the student’s regular weekly lesson.

Makeup Lessons: Make-ups will only be considered for lessons canceled at least 24-hours in advance. Notifications under 24-hours notice will result in the student forfeiting the lesson. All makeup lessons must be completed by the end of the semester. Each student is guaranteed a maximum of two makeups per semester. Additional makeup lessons are not guaranteed and will only be offered if the instructor is able. If the instructor must cancel, a makeup lesson will be guaranteed.

Inclement Weather: Lessons will be given online in the event of inclement weather.

Performances Opportunities:

  • Studio Recitals: Two studio recitals will be held during the academic year. Recitals are a great opportunity for students to perform for family and friends in a positive and supportive environment. A recital fee of $20 per student will be charged for each recital. Participation is not mandatory but strongly encouraged.

  • NYSSMA: Students have the option of participating in NYSSMA, an annual festival consisting of different musical components.

  • ABRSM Exams: The ABRSM exam is great for students who are looking for a more intensive performance evaluation.
